    Compliance Officer

    Job description

    • Oversee and administer all compliance operational activities as requested by the Manager: Compliance and Investigations in line with approved policies and procedures.
    • Assist the Manager: Compliance and Investigations with the accurate coordination and provision of relevant operational information as required.
    • Responsible for coordinating all compliance, training, risk and project driven tasks as determined by the Manager: Compliance and Investigations.
    • Oversee and administer all relevant Tracker Members to be registered according to the Act and in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate monthly statements, statistical and compliance reports as per time and quality standards.
    • Administer all new training material as and when required according to SOPs (standard operating procedures).
    • Ensure and administer Tracker ORS members’ training on the Criminal Procedures Act according to SOPs.
    • Coordinate legislative training (SAPS and Tracker related) according to SOPs.
    • Administer Fire-Arm training as well as tactical firearm training interventions (nationally) in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Administer Firearm Competencies (Nationally) in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Oversee and administer Firearm Permits according to SOPs.
    • Responsible for conducting all Compliance Inspections and Record Keeping in line with internal time and quality standards.
    • Responsible for VTT Compliance in accordance with training manuals.
    • Responsible for the administration regarding Firearm and Tactical Training including Regulation 21 Training.
    • Oversee and administer all arrests made in accordance with the Act and in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Administer Shooting incidents and investigations (operational members and incidents at Tracker) in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Testify in Criminal/ Civil Court (Expert Testimony District, Regional, High Court and Court of Appeal) as and when required.
    • Liaise with control prosecutors on criminal / civil matters.
    • Assist the Manager: Compliance and Investigations with relevant internal investigations and assist law enforcement when required; upholding legal and ethical standards throughout the investigation process
    • Administer Back on Track claims as well as NTR (Non Tracker Recovery) Claims in line with internal policies and procedures.
    • Responsible for contributing towards Operational Risk Mitigation through the proactive identification and mitigation of potential compliance risks, ensuring adherence to industry regulations (PSiRA, FCA) and Trackers internal policies within scope of control.
    • Contribute towards driving continuous improvement through conducting professional risk assessments and investigations with a focus on highlighting corrective measures.
    • Ensure strict adherence to all internal Tracker policies, procedures and regulations in all work deliverables.
    • Maintain positive relationships with all relevant stakeholder players (Law Enforcement, Tracker leadership etc.)
    • Communicate, implement and live the company values every day.
    • Drive continuous improvement in customer service levels in all areas of delivery.
    • Foster increased stakeholder engagement by facilitating regular feedback and actively sharing meaningful information with other relevant stakeholders to support the department’s operational objectives.
    • Provide for the creation and maintenance of mutually beneficial relationships with all relevant stakeholders by ensuring that all partner obligations are met, and expectations exceeded.
    • Assist in developing successful relationships between Tracker and key partners (SAPS, PSiRA, etc.) to ensure that lasting relationships with these entities prevail.

    Minimum requirements

    • Matric
    • At least 3 years’ experience within the Critical Services Industry / Environment.
    • At least 3 years’ Security Industry or SAPS experience.
    • An above average knowledge of how the South African Police Service, Law Enforcement, Insurance Industry and Critical Services operates is required.
    • An above average knowledge of how Tracker Operational Services operates will be advantageous.
    • Above average knowledge of Criminal Law and the Criminal Procedure Act (Act 51 of 1977) is compulsory.
    • Above average knowledge of the Firearm Control Act (Act 60 of 2000) and Regulations is compulsory.
    • Working knowledge of the PSIRA Act (Act 51 of 2001) and Regulations is compulsory.
    • Working knowledge of the South African Police Act (Act 68 of 1995) and procedures is compulsory.
    • Be in possession of a valid driver’s license
