    Account and Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    • This role is responsible for driving new business growth, through market development and partnerships to achieve set market share growth objectives. The incumbent will be required to build a pipeline of clients through effective business development, conceptualizing and executing a sales and distribution strategy for Remchannel and OMCC. The responsibility to identify, develop, and implement/drive go-to-market strategies for new value propositions is also key to this role.

    Key Result Areas

    • Markets and consults on OMCC and Remchannel remuneration and benefits products, solutions and consulting services under agreement with Old Mutual.
    • Develops and leads the implementation of an action plan around how to set and deliver new business growth for Remchannel and OMCC.
    • Builds and develops a pipeline of prospective clients and proactively follows through to close new business opportunities for Remchannel and OMCC and the broader OMC where relevant.
    • Provides advice and consults on a wide range of remuneration and benefits solutions to corporate/institutional clients.
    • Manages the delivery of new business proposals and ensures all contractual processes are followed in line with Remchannel and OMCC procedures.
    • Maintains a database of new and existing clients.
    • Maintains and services existing clients by doing report backs and client visits.
    • Identifies threats to existing accounts and drives appropriate action to retain clients.
    • Plays a team role in sales and retention of clients and fulfils reporting processes and business practices for these clients.
    • Ensures sales targets are met and existing clients are retained
    • Determine retention metrics and plans to effectively manage client retention to support business development targets
    • Contributes to the delivery of client projects as required to close capacity gaps and ensure client satisfaction at all times

    Role Requirements: Skills, Qualifications and Experience

    • Relevant business management degree or sales qualification
    • NQF 7
    • At least 5-10 years’ experience in Financial Services with sound people management/relationship-building skills and a demonstrable track record in driving sales and business development
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders internally and externally.
    • Sound knowledge of the principles and practices associated with providing a high standard of quality customer service and satisfaction
    • Sound leadership and people management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with teams.
    • Exceptional sales and business development skills.
    • Project management experience.
    • Experience in the Reward industry with a strong understanding of remuneration and benefits strategies.
    • Strong business communication skills (written, presentations, verbal etc.)
