Medical Technologist

Duties

Playing a significant role in ensuring that Mycobacteriun tuberculosis cultures and their associated diagnostic data are directed to the respective studies in a timely manner;
Assisting with identifying sputum sediments, inoculation of study MGITs, barcoding of study MGITs, database registration, monitoring of study-specific MGIT samples, and transport of sampls from the NHLS Greenpoint to Stellenbosch University;
Assisting with routine diagnostic assays for the NHLS.

Job Requirements

HSPCA registration as a Medical Technologist (MT);
Experience in the field of Tuberculosis (working under BSL2+/ BSL-3 conditions);
Computer literate, including in Office 365 applications;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
