Job Summary:

To take responsibility for the safe and efficient transportation and transferring of patients between various areas of the hospital and ensuring the safe movement of medical equipment.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 or equivalent
1 year’s experience in a hospital setting

Minimum Job Requirements:

Take direction from the relevant department/unit in relation to patient transfer duties.
Perform porter duties on time and at the designated place of duty.
Maintain confidentiality of all matters.
Deal and engage with patients and staff in a courteous and effective manner.
Ensure the correct collection and delivery of x-rays, medical reports, or relevant documents throughout the hospital.
Assist in the lifting and transportation of patients according to relevant CHG standards and policies.
Safely and efficiently move trolleys, wheelchairs, and equipment between different departments.
Deliver files and other documentation as requested within the hospital.
