    Technical Trainer - Boksburg

    Purpose:

    The Technical Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for employees, customers, and partners. This role demands a profound understanding of electronic products, systems, and technologies, coupled with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information in an engaging and comprehensible manner. The Technical Trainer will equip employees with the necessary skills to achieve their job objectives by planning, conducting, and evaluating technical and product training on all Booyco proximity detection systems. Additionally, the trainer will conduct practical training sessions and assessments for technicians to ensure they meet the highest standards of proficiency.

    Education, experience, and competencies:

    • Bachelors degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, and/or Electrical Trade (Red Seal)
    • Training qualification
    • 2-5 years experience as a Technical Trainer, preferably in the electronics industry.
    • Mining and/or Electronics industry experience (advantage)
    • Must be medically fit and willing to travel.
    • Valid Drivers license
    • Strong understanding of electronic products, systems, and technologies.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Develop and Deliver Training:

    • Create and implement comprehensive technical training programs for internal staff, customers, and partners.

    Create Training Materials:

    • Design and produce various training materials, including manuals, guides, presentations, and videos.

    Conduct Training Sessions :

    • Facilitate training in multiple formats, such as classroom settings, online modules, and hands-on workshops.

    Assess Training Needs:

    • Identify training requirements through surveys, interviews, and consultations with managers and stakeholders.

    Evaluate Training Effectiveness:

    • Measure the success of training programs through feedback and performance metrics and make necessary improvements.

    Stay Updated:

    • Keep abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure training content remains current and relevant.

    Collaborate with Teams:

    • Work closely with product development and engineering teams to gain in-depth knowledge of new products and features.

    Provide Technical Support:

    • Offer ongoing technical support and guidance to trainees during and after training sessions.

    Maintain Records:

    • Keep detailed training records and generate reports on training activities and outcomes.

    Plan and Conduct Training:

    • Prepare employees to achieve job results by planning, conducting, and evaluating technical training.

    Product Training:

    • Deliver training on all Booyco proximity detection systems.

    Practical Training and Assessment:

    • Conduct practical training and assessments for new and existing technicians.

    Training Needs Assessment:

    • Gather information on job specifications, work procedures, and standard performance to design relevant training programs.

    Set and Mark Evaluations:

    • Create and evaluate questionnaires, issue certificates, and set measures to monitor the success of training interventions.

    Administration and Reporting:

    • Complete administrative tasks, including attendance registers, feedback reports, and training records.

    Deliver Training:

    • Conduct training sessions in formal group classroom settings or individually, as required.

    Adhoc Tasks:

    • Perform any additional tasks and duties as required by management.

    Mining Staff Training:

    • Train mining staff on product knowledge of PDS and communicate frequently with area managers and account managers regarding training and new developments.

    Technician Training:

    • Train implementation technicians on new and existing products and follow up on site training and evaluations.

    Team Contribution:

    • Contribute to team success through individual efforts and by assisting team members.

    Product Role Development:

    • Develop product roles to meet job requirements.

    Understand Training Materials:

    • Read and comprehend new product training materials.

    Human Resource Activities :

    • Engage in training-related human resource activities and provide weekly reports on training conducted and future progress.

    Build Relationships:

    • Professionally build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
