    Bookkeeper / Accountant

    Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

    • Compile/maintain the year-end audit and reporting, half-year reporting, monthly reporting and annual budget process within group guidelines
    • Preparation of management reports, special analyses and information reports
    • Drive cost-saving initiatives, efficiencies and process improvements
    • Ensure full compliance with exchange control laws, tax laws and other relevant laws
    • Maintain records in accordance with the Companies Act and SARS requirements
    • Provide management with advice on the financial implications of business activities
    • Preparation of monthly management accounts.
    • Daily, weekly and monthly cash flow management.
    • Daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations
    • Prepare monthly forecasting and annual budgeting
    • Prepare annual financial statements and assist with year- end audits
    • Capital expenditure/Projects control.
    • Responsible for sound internal controls over all financial functions.
    • Ad hoc administrative requirements and reporting.
    • Manage employees within the Finance Department of this portfolio
    • Capture supplier import and customs data
    • Reconcile monthly statements from suppliers/customers against invoices and stock received and handle discrepancies
    • Process monthly supplier payments and customer receipts

    KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and an ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization
    • Strong analytical thinking with great attention to detail
    • A high level of integrity and dependability, coupled with a strong sense of urgency and an orientation towards results
    • Strong problem solving and creative skills, including the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timeous analyses Requirements: Qualifications/Experience
    • Proficiency in Excel/Advanced Excel
    • Experience with Sage, Xero or similar accounting software
    • Knowledge of import/export would be a benefit
    • Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping/accounting experience
    • Degree/Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance.
    • Knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and South African financial regulations.
    • Proven experience with financial software and ERP systems.
