    Area Sales Manager - JHB

    This is an excellent opportunity to work with the worlds leading medical device company and be at the forefront of opening new sales channels and delivering account services to customers in the Southern region of Africa. This will be for a 1 year contract with the possibility of indefinite extension .

    You will be part of a commercial team. You will be responsible for strengthening business growth by building strong relationships with their business partners and working closely with the Marketing team to analyse and measure market share and business development against key metrics of marketing and sales activities.


    As the Southern Africa Sales Manager, you will be responsible for a number of key markets, including the Republic of South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Angola, Ethiopia, and the rest of the southern eastern region.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish good relationships with business partners and sub-distributors.
    • Plan yearly and mid-term budgets and execute the plan with business partners.
    • Execute field visits to analyze performance evaluation, opportunities & threats and report necessary actions.
    • Achieve budget sales and profit figures, drive performance to new levels, and seek business development opportunities in related markets.
    • Organize & coordinate annual trade plans, promotions, and marketing activities.
    • Management of local Key Opinion Leaders
    • Responsible for optimizing product mix & launching new products.
    • Deliver seamless coordination between Supply Chain Management, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory to ensure the best customer and consumer service in each domain.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelors degree in the field of business administration, engineering, or related departments of prominent universities
    • 4 – 7 years relevant sales experience in preferably FMCG or Healthcare with account management experience in significant regional or national customers
    • A driven individual who enjoys achieving targets and measuring performance with strong negotiation skills.
    • Knowledge of OTC Sales, the pharmaceutical market, and/or a medical environment is advantageous.
    • Trade marketing experience, pharmacy channel management a multinational company is advantage.
    • Management of sales/ medical representatives is a plus
    • Having a multi-disciplinary perspective, self-motivation, and a high level of energy.
    • Proficient in the English language, both written and verbal
    • Knowledge of contract law is advantageous.
    • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Driver’s license
    • This will be a hybrid role
