Job Description:

  • JOB PURPOSE  : A Business Development Manager, who will play a pivotal role in expanding our presence in the dredging industry, is being sought to join our team at Dredge Masters Limited. We are in search of a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in business development, particularly within the maritime and dredging sectors.

    REPORTS TO : Deputy Managing Director

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and implement strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities in the dredging sector.
    • Cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive digital marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, generate leads, and increase conversion rates.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tailor solutions to client needs.
    • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify growth opportunities.
    • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
    • Demonstrate cultural and community sensitivity in client interactions.
    • Documentation of project changes and updates.

    QUALIFICATION

    • Education: Masters in MBA/ MSC in Business /CIMG Certification BSc/BA in business administration, finance or relevant field
    • Education in Engineering, Project Management  with a strong Marketing experience would be considered
    • Fluency in speaking and writing French will be an added advantage

    EXPERIENCE
    Minimum 10-12 years’ experience of successful commercial management, business development, customer management, sales or related field with at least 5 years in Senior role

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Must be able to write technical and financial proposals
    • Must have a technical Background or Engineering
    • Previous Knowledge in Dredging, Mining or Heavy Duty Machine Operations would be desirable.
    • Appreciable experience in Business Prospecting within Africa or international Exposure
    • Strong Government relations and Stakeholder Management
    • Proven Track record in successful sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
    • Knowledge of industry and the Route to Market processes
    • In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
    • Experience in developing and executing commercial strategy
    • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements
    • Solid knowledge working with key financial data and the ability to produce sound budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting
