  • SOS CHILDREN’S VILLAGES GHANA is a child welfare organization that provides a stable Family-Like Care (FLC) for children in need. We also provide social services for families at risk through our Family Strengthening Projects.     PROJECT COORDINATOR

    The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the implementation of the PUNBO project (Pukparilim Nyela Bom’ma Project) in the Northern Region of Ghana . This comprehensive initiative aims to increase income and employment opportunities for small-scale household farmers through the adoption of smart agriculture practices, with a focus on sustainable agricultural production. Additionally, the project addresses child protection and gender-based violence issues in the project communities. The role entails

    1 . Project Planning and Implementation

    Work closely with the Programmes Director to translate project goals into actionable plans and oversee their execution.

    Coordinate the implementation of all project components, including agriculture, child protection, and gender-based violence initiatives.

    • Team Leadership and Management

    Provide leadership to project staff, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.

    Supervise and support component officers, ensuring effective communication and coordination among team members.

    • Stakeholder Engagement

    Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with government officials, community leaders, NGOs, and other key stakeholders.

    Act as a key liaison between the project and external partners, ensuring alignment with project goals.

    • Monitoring and Evaluation

    Oversee the development and implementation of a framework to monitor and evaluate project progress against predefined indicators.

    Ensure that project activities are effectively monitored, evaluated, and reported on time.

    • 5. Financial Oversight

    Collaborate with the finance team to monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.

    Provide regular updates on the project’s financial aspects to the Project Director.

    • Documentation and Reporting

    Ensure accurate and timely documentation of project activities, achievements, and challenges.

    Prepare regular progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, contributing to transparency and accountability.

    • Community Engagement and Capacity Building

    Facilitate community engagement initiatives to ensure the active participation of project beneficiaries.

    Oversee capacity-building programs for community members, caregivers, and farmers, ensuring their active involvement in project activities.

    • Integration of Project Components

    Work closely with component officers to ensure seamless integration and coordination among all project components.

    Identify opportunities for synergy and collaboration across agriculture, child protection, and gender-based violence initiatives.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, development studies, project management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.

    Proven experience in managing agricultural or development projects, with a focus on sustainable practices and livelihood improvement.

    Strong understanding of child protection and gender issues in development contexts.

    Excellent leadership and team management skills.

    Demonstrated experience in financial management and budget oversight.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

    Familiarity with the agricultural sector and issues facing smallholder farmers in Ghana.

    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

    Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages in the Northern Region is an advantage.
