Women’s Health to Wealth (WHW) is a well-established, highly respected local NGO in the Ashanti region of Ghana whose mission is to improve the health and wealth of women for the progress and development of the Ashanti region. They specialize in women’s and children’s health and expanding access to donated medical Gift-In-Kind (GIK) commodities. WHW programs focus on education, health, and financial empowerment across the program themes of “All girls in school,” “Healthy mothers and newborns,” and “Mmaa Aboso Kesee” (a community loan program to grow businesses). About the position: Partnering with Americares, Women’s Health to Wealth (WHW) will scale up its efforts to keep adolescent girls in school by preventing unintended pregnancies; implement maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) programs; expand access to medicine and strengthen supply chain systems in the Ashanti and Bono regions in Ghana. To reduce school drop-out rates in junior high schools, WHW will scale up girl clubs to reach 4,500 girls in 50 schools. The clubs will provide girls with adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) information to increase their knowledge, resources and self-efficacy, and the resources and support to complete basic schooling. For MNCH, WHW/Americares plan to reduce neonatal mortality by equipping providers with neonatal resuscitation equipment, knowledge, and skills in 50 health facilities. The project will strengthen essential newborn care (ENC) through clean birth kits and technical support. It will address screening gaps and commodity shortages for pregnant women in antenatal care (ANC) to help prevent adverse pregnancy outcomes. With point-of-care diagnostic supplies, iron/folic acid supplementation and technical support/training on ANC screening/counseling, pregnant women will receive essential routine screening and preventative care.WHW seeks a Health Projects Manager who will work closely with the WHW Executive Director, the Americares Africa and Middle East team, and the other WHW staff.
